About Us

VOCAL Africa (Voices of Communities, Activists, and Leaders of Africa) is a human rights organization dedicated to advocating for social justice, amplifying marginalized voices and holding power to account. We work across Africa to support youth-led movements, document human rights violations, and provide civic education on governance, democracy, and inclusivity.
About Us

What We Do

At VOCAL Africa, we defend human rights, empower communities, and demand justice through advocacy, civic education, and grassroots mobilization. We document and expose human rights violations, including police brutality, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances, working with victims and legal partners to seek justice. Through civic education and youth empowerment, we equip students and communities with knowledge on governance, democracy, and social justice, fostering informed and active citizens. Our community barazas and grassroots mobilization efforts create spaces for people to engage in critical discussions and push for policy changes.

We amplify marginalized voices through digital activism, storytelling, and media campaigns, ensuring that injustices are exposed and public discourse shifts toward accountability. Our legal team provides support to victims and advocates for policy reforms, challenging oppressive laws through strategic litigation. As part of a Pan-African movement, we collaborate with activists and organizations across the continent to build solidarity and strengthen civic engagement. VOCAL Africa is more than an organization—it’s a movement for justice.
